The fresh authentic Greek style cuisine is mouthwatering. The entire staff (hostesses, waiters, manager) are exceptionally attentive & friendly towards my every need & request. I live this restaurant, and dine here whenever I am visiting in this part of town.

Lovely experience. The food was excellent with great ambiance and service. We dropped in last minute without a reservation, but were welcomed in and given a table outside that felt quite romantic. The service was very attentive but not intrusive. We had the Avra chips, lamp chips and a filet. Each items was delicious and well-prepared.

Before anything else I want to compliment hostess Dorina for her amazing service and kindness. Restaurants as sophisticated as Avra - specially in Manhattan- aren’t kid friendly. And she made our family lunch time inviting and comfortable. The food is superb! If you like Greek/Mediterranean food full of flavor this is the place! The portions are great even if you opt for the “Lunch Menu”. I specially recommend the octopus, lamb chops and the spreads. Best Tzatziki ever!!!

Loved the atmosphere, bright, clean euro modern, staff was very happy to help and adjust entree as needed. We ordered their lunch special which had several choices of main dish, appetizer, an dessert. Two glasses of wine each, given the quality and the experience, i am giving this 5 stars. So nice to finally find a place thats in mid town and is clean with excellent and authentic Greek food! Highly recommend and will be back!

Always friendly, professional, fresh and excellent food. I haven't been to Avra for over two years and I was delighted to see some of the managers I knew from sometime ago were still there. They were incredibly accommodating to me as a single diner and gave me choices of seating. I opted for the outside seating as it was a beautiful day. The service was as expected, excellent front. This was a lunch meal and I opted for a green salad with grilled salmon. They didn't have the grilled salmon as an option on the menu, but when I requested it, they were able to make it happen. Every bite was delicious. The salmon was perfectly cooked, fresh, and delicious. I'm so happy that Restaurant was able to make it through the challenging years and it's still a wonderful go to place on the east side. Thanks Avra team!

Great experience. I thought at first that we were being shunted off to the hinterlands (to the "wine room") but, in fact, while not as "vibey" as the front and outdoor areas, was a notch or two quieter and actually a nice space, too. Server was one charming mf and we were not kept waiting for anything. The olive-and-hummus complimentary plate was great. Can't say that the red snapper (picked from the display case of whole fish) was worth $101... but excellent. The fish soup... not really. The vibe, the vitality, the ambience, the service all compensated for the shortcomings of the soup and the cost of the whole fish.
